Bangka
Strait
Die Bangka Inseln befinden sich vor der Nordspitze Sulawesis.
Sie schauen wie grosse Stuecke Festland aus, die abgebrochen
und ins Meer gefallen sind. Sie sind mit Gruen bedeckt und nur
spaerlich bewohnt. Japanische Zuchtperlen-Farmen liegen verstreut
zwischen einigen Inseln. Am Festland, in der Naehe von Likupang,
liegt eine Bucht mit ausgedehnten Seegrasfeldern. Weiterhin
findet man unter Wasser spektakulaere Felssaeulen voller farbiger
Korallen, die von grossen Fischen umkreist werden.

Some of the dive destinations that we go
diving in Bangka island near Manado :
Sahaong : is located around
the Bangka islands. The dive site consists of a series of large
underwater pinnacles that brake the surface. There is an area
where the pinnacles seem to form giant steps. The landscape is
very beautiful with orange soft corals, sponges and sea fans.
Everywhere are snappers, surgeon fish, fusiliers and trigger fish.
On the edge and observing this huge fish soup - beautiful! You
can see also the pygmy seahorses, moray eels and a school of glasfishes
on the top and on another dive an eagleray! Dives range from 5
- 35 m. There can be strong currents and surges at shallower depths.
The southeast tip of Sahaung is also very good for diving.
Pulisan : The housereef
is very good. You are able to see a humpback scorpionfish, then
a blue ribbon eel. Possible to see also a small yellow frogfish.
It opened its jaw several times and it started to move its lure
again and again. We also found a nice pink leaffish in a whitish
gorgonian fan and several nudibranchs.
Batu Gosoh : This is an
underwater pinnacle, the reef is very steep and there are some
small caves. We saw schools of fish (batfish, butterflyfish,
bannerfish) and two turtles. There are sometimes mackerels and
dogtooth tunas.
